Full Day Tour of Carthage, Sidi Bou Saïd and the Bardo Museum.

Admire the emblematic sites of Tunis during a full-day tour, which includes Carthage and Sidi Bou Said. Explore the ancient ruins of Carthage, stroll around the city on the cliff side of Sidi Bou Saïd, and visit the famous Bardo Museum and the Medina of Tunis. Includes a guide, lunch, and transfer to and from the hotel.

After transfer from your hotel in the morning, you board an air-conditioned minivan for a ride to the Bardo Museum.

The Bardo Museum occupies an old palace. The famous museum contains an extensive collection that includes beautiful Roman mosaics, ancient pieces dating back to early Islamic times, and rare Phoenician artifacts.

You will then go to discover the medina of Tunis, one of the best-preserved Islamic cities in the world. Stroll through the narrow streets, observing the architecture of residential neighborhoods and bustling souks. You will also see the great Zitouna mosque, the souk Echaouchia (traditional market of hat manufacturers), and the souk El Attarine (perfumers market).

You will have lunch in a local restaurant, and then transfer to Carthage.

Founded by the Phoenicians in 814 BC, the first settlements of Punic Carthage can still be seen from Byrsa Hill, just below the famous National Museum of Carthage. Although destroyed by the Romans in 146 BC, the recent excavations revealed the foundations of five-level Punic houses, each with its own cistern and specific evacuation system.

The most remarkable ancient remains are those of the two basins of the Punic ports, the testimony of the control of the sea by the Carthaginians. Another important pre-Roman site of Carthage: is the tophet, a cemetery and sanctuary dedicated to Punic deities Tanit and Baal.

Only a 10-minute drive from Carthage, you can visit the picturesque village of Sidi Bou Saïd, which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. You can stroll along the winding cobblestone streets lined with white-walled houses, sky-blue doors, and ornate screened windows, then browse the shops or relax in a Moorish cliff-side cafe.

At the end of your excursion in the late afternoon, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
