8-Days Star Wars & Cultural Adventure in Tunisia

Day 1: Arrival in Tunisia – Welcome to a New Adventure
Arrive in Tunis, Tunisia’s capital. You’ll be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a short orientation walk or relax and settle in. Dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant introduces you to Tunisia’s flavors.

Day 2: Explore Tunis – Museums, Medinas & Coastal Ruins
Start with a guided tour of the Bardo Museum, home to the world’s finest collection of Roman mosaics. Next, dive into the bustling Medina of Tunis, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with souks, traditional cafés, and the stunning Zitouna Mosque.
After lunch, head to the coastal ruins of Carthage, once the heart of a powerful ancient empire, then finish with a stroll in Sidi Bou Said, famous for its blue-and-white cliffside charm overlooking the Mediterranean.

Day 3: Kairouan to Tozeur – Sacred Cities & Sahara Gateways
Depart for Kairouan, one of Islam’s holiest cities. Visit the iconic Okba Ibn Nafaa Mosque, the Sidi Sahbi Mausoleum, and the old Medina. Enjoy a traditional lunch, then continue through changing desert landscapes to Tozeur, an oasis town famed for its date palms and Star Wars filming proximity.
Dinner and overnight in Tozeur (4★ hotel).
Day 4: Star Wars Safari – Chebika, Mides & Ong Jmal
Spend the day exploring legendary Star Wars sites. Start at Chebika, a palm-lined oasis with waterfalls, then trek through the majestic Mides Canyon, which offers views worthy of a sci-fi set. Continue to Ong Jmal ("Neck of the Camel") and Mos Espa, the bustling spaceport where young Anakin lived.
Enjoy a desert-style lunch and choose from optional activities like quad biking, camel rides, or horse-drawn carriage tours.

Day 5: Tozeur to Douz – Across the Dunes of Tatooine
Begin at Chott El Jerid, the salt lake backdrop to Luke Skywalker’s twin suns scene. Visit Sidi Bouhlel Canyon, also called “Star Wars Canyon,” where key A New Hope scenes were filmed. Continue to Douz, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara,” for a desert camel ride across the dunes.
End the day in Matmata, where you’ll stay in a traditional troglodyte hotel and visit the underground home used for Luke’s house in the original trilogy.

Day 6: Ksars & Ancient Villages – From Matmata to Djerba
Journey through the heart of Berber architecture and Star Wars history. Visit Ksar Haddada and Ksar Ouled Soltane, used as slave quarters in The Phantom Menace, then explore the stunning hilltop village of Chenini. After lunch, travel along the ancient Roman causeway to the island of Djerba, a blend of Mediterranean charm and historic significance.
Dinner and overnight in Djerba (4★ hotel).
Day 7: Ajim, El Jem & Return to Tunis
Begin in Ajim, Djerba’s coastal town, where several scenes were filmed—including the exterior of the Mos Eisley Cantina. After exploring filming spots, begin your return north with a stop at the El Jem Roman Amphitheater, one of the best-preserved coliseums in the world. Arrive in Tunis by evening for your farewell dinner.

Day 8: Departure – May the Force Be With You
After breakfast, transfer to Tunis–Carthage International Airport for your flight home, carrying unforgettable memories of Tunisia’s Star Wars heritage, ancient history, and desert magic.
